Murder #72, Vitalijs Janovics, Bermondsey.......Vitalijs Janovics, 38, was stabbed to death during a suspected robbery on July 22, 2011. Janovics was attacked after taking out £100 from a cashpoint near Bermondsey tube station. He was pronounced dead at hospital and a postmortem gave the cause of death as a single stab wound to the heart. Two men were charged with murder but the prosecution dropped the case because there was “no longer a reasonable prospect of conviction.”
