Murder #148, James Durkin, Orpington......James Durkin, 21, was attacked after attending a Diamond Jubilee barbecue in Orpington. He was found collapsed in Court Road on June 5, 2012, and died later that evening. A postmortem revealed he had suffered a brain haemorrhage as a result of blunt force trauma. Liam Smith, 25, was charged with murder. On October 10 Smith pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of lack of intent. He was jailed for three years.
