Jonathan Glazer

Jonathan Glazer, film director, photographed in Central London, ahead of the release of his new film "The Zone of Interest" which is about The commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp. It is loosely based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Martin Amis. Jonathan Glazer is an English film director and screenwriter. Born in London, Glazer began his career in theatre before transitioning into film. He has directed four feature films: Sexy Beast (2000), Birth (2004), Under the Skin (2013), and The Zone of Interest (2023).

His work is often characterized by depictions of flawed and desperate characters, explorations of themes such as alienation and loneliness, a bold visual style that utilizes an omniscient perspective, and dramatic use of music. Glazer has been nominated for the Palme d’Or, two BAFTA Awards, and twice for both the Golden Lion and the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. For The Zone of Interest, he won both the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

He has directed numerous music videos for Radiohead, Massive Attack, Richard Ashcroft and The Dead Weather. For his work, he received nominations for the MTV Video Music Award for Best Direction twice, consecutively for his work on Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" and Radiohead's "Karma Police". He has also directed commercials for Kodak, Sony, Nike, Barclays, and Alexander McQueen, among others.
