Murder of Mumtahina Jannat
Mother-of-two Mumtahina Jannat, 29, was found strangled at her home in East Ham, east London, on July 5, 2011. Police were called to the house at 118 Kempton Road at around 1pm. The victim was lying on the bedroom floor with a scarf wrapped tightly around her neck. A postmortem gave the cause of death as compression of the neck and asphyxia.
